CoServ Electric Cooperative, the nation’s second largest electric cooperative, headquartered in Corinth Texas, is seeking applicants for the position of Director of Engineering. CoServ is an electric and gas distribution company serving North Texas since 1937. Doing business as CoServ Electric since 1998, CoServ has over 10,478 miles of electric infrastructure serving more than 239,000 meters across Denton, Collin, Cooke, Grayson, Tarrant and Wise counties. The natural gas affiliate, CoServ Gas, was established in 1998 and serves more than 124,000 gas meters in Denton, Collin and Kaufman counties. There are approximately 460 total employees with 385 in the electric operations and 75 in the gas division. CoServ is growing cooperative adding more than 10,000 new electric connections annually and has a peak demand of 1600 MW. Its load is 93% residential with a 45% annual load factor.
The previous Director of Engineering was promoted internally, and we are looking for an outstanding, experienced individual to step into the role.
Qualified applicants should hold a P.E. license with 5-10 years of demonstrated progressive engineering and management experience, preferably from a large cooperative system. The Director of Engineering’s responsibilities includes system planning, overseeing the coop’s SCADA system and supervising five employees, who are all degreed engineers, Additional responsibilities include overseeing CoServ's Distribution Technology Center (DTC) which houses the meter and transformer shop and AMI and special equipment. The successful candidate must be able to tutor less experienced engineers and encourage them in developing their professional knowledge and skills.
