Qualifications Education / Experience: High School Diploma/GED, a Journeyman Lineman or completion of an approved Apprentice Lineman school. Position Requirements (Abilities):Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license as required by the state of Kansas for vehicle(s) operated. Must have a good attendance and safety record. Should be able to attend school during off duty hours as required. Must be familiar with city streets and possess a working knowledge of material and equipment used in line department. Must be able to work various shifts, overtime and holidays as required. Prerequisite Skills: All applicants for this position who do not presently hold a safety sensitive position will be required to submit to a drug test after successful bid and before actual appointment. Incumbent must be skilled in use of tools, materials, or equipment to perform necessary analysis and repairs.
