Join MRES’s team as a Resource Engineer! You will support the development, operation and maintenance of power generation resources for which Missouri River Energy Services (MRES) is responsible, and provides support services for generation reserves under contract with Member Utilities. In this exciting role you will be responsible for:
Planning and conducting specified inter-utility power supply projects, studies and analysis.
Participate in the development, management, operation and maintenance of power generation resources.
Participates and supports the procurement of equipment/components and the development of contracts for services for the operation/maintenance and capital addition projects at generation facilities.
Participates and supports the administration of contract and project management duties of new generation construction, capital addition projects, maintenance of existing equipment and facilities.
Assist in the development, evaluation and implementation of power supply environmental and regulatory compliance programs.
Plans, evaluates, and directs the testing, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance associated with the mechanical, electrical, and control systems and equipment.
Learn and work with plant controls such as SCADA communication, network, relaying and metering systems and/or equipment to support troubleshooting and maintaining of such systems and equipment.
Assists in the evaluation of cost, reliability, longevity and operational characteristics of generation resources.
Will be placed into the on-call rotation to handle various situations in accordance with the plant’s on-call policy.
Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions; occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock.
Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University in an engineering field related to the essential duties, and six or more years related experience.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
The employee will spend the majority of the time performing office work and may be required to travel up to 30% of the time for durations up to a week at a time.
Experience in the Following Areas Desired (not required):
Solar farms, grid base battery storage, and inverter systems.
Rockwell Allen Bradley and other distributive controls systems; programmable logic controllers and human machine interface equipment.
NERC compliant relay and battery maintenance and testing programs.
