The Klickitat PUD’s Operations Manager is responsible for coordinating and directing, construction, operations, and maintenance activities related to the District’s transmission and distribution systems. This includes safety, purchasing, inventory, fleet, building & grounds, and vegetation management.
Effectively lead the Operations Department to ensure safe, responsive, customer-focused service is provided to the District’s customers. This position is primarily performed in the Goldendale office and warehouse, however, duties may include fieldwork in inclement weather.
The Operations Manager plays an important role in supporting organizational business objectives and achieving the strategic goals as established by the Board of Commissioners and General Manager.
Minimum Qualifications: At least eight years experience working in a utility operations position, with utility line construction, and at least three years experience in a supervisory role.
Demonstrated supervision, leadership, and team-building successes.
Knowledge of personal computers and the use of computers and software required.
Valid First Aid/CPR Card, or the ability to obtain within 6 months of regular status employment.
Post-offer drug test required.
Post-offer background check required
Education: Two years college degree with an emphasis in business or engineering or equivalent and completion of a linemen apprenticeship program.
Valid Driver license: Yes, ability to obtain valid Washington State driver’s license within 6 months; and a valid Washington Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) “Class A.”
Preferred Qualifications: Experience supervising union employees and participating in collective bargaining negotiations.
