Energy Systems Analyst
NMPP Energy, located in Lincoln, Nebraska is seeking an Energy Systems Analyst to join our team. Use your skills, experience, and talents to collect and provide accurate and reliable electric metering and billing data through programming, installation, and operation of metering data acquisition system, Energy Management System, Energy Accounting System, and Generation Management System. Administer Meter Data Management and Advanced Metering Infrastructure System, provide assistance to members by answering questions and resolving issues.
The Energy Systems Analyst supports the mission of NMPP Energy by:
- Implementing and maintaining energy accounting platform meter data and calculation architecture. Implementing system and process modifications and following up with utility staff and to determine cause of meter reading irregularities. Customizing systems to individual applications and needs.
- Configuring, installing, and maintaining telemetering equipment, communications equipment and related software and hardware including onsite troubleshooting and repair.
- Identifying and responding to current and future internal and external customer needs in alignment with business decisions. Responsible for solving customer problems, ensuring commitments to customers are met, and soliciting opinions and ideas from customers.
- Administering and maintaining the Meter Data Management System (MDM), and Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) system to ensure functionality, uptime, and data integrity. Providing technical support to communities and troubleshooting, analyzing, and fixing errors of AMI and MDM systems. Performing system testing of software releases and updates.
- Training users on telemetery systems, data integrity software, AMI and MDM systems.
- Managing acquisition, supply chain, and inventory control for all applicable equipment and supplies.
Skills & Qualifications You Need
- Associate's degree (A.A.) from two-year college or technical school and 3-5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of electrical metering and data acquisition equipment and methodology.
- Understanding of cybersecurity and physical security best practices.
- Ability to research, read and understand schematics, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Basic understanding of SQL and other database structures and languages.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
