CORE COMPETENCIES & ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Under direct supervision, assists with troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all electronic, electrical, and mechanical power plant control equipment at Simple Cycle Peaking Plants, District Energy Thermal plants and local Wind Turbines. Performs emergency and overtime work on short notice and at odd hours relating to plant operations or maintenance, as required. This position requires a rotating on-call schedule. When “on call”, response time is expected to be within 45 minutes or less, in fit for duty condition. Consistent and reliable attendance is required. Please note, LES is interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States. However, LES is not able to sponsor employment-based immigrant or non-immigrant visas.
- Under direct supervision, assists with troubleshooting, repairing and calibrating power generation equipment including gas turbine and wind turbine controls, balance of plant, plant auxiliary control systems and District Energy facilities controls at various sites.
- Assists with troubleshooting malfunctions on instrumentation and controls related equipment.
- Under direct supervision, assists with testing performance of electromechanical and electrical equipment using test instruments including oscilloscopes, voltmeters, ohmmeters, and multi-functional processor-based test equipment, and analyzes test data in order to diagnose malfunctions, to determine performance characteristics of systems, and to evaluate effects of system modifications.
- Under direct supervision, assists in the design processes, scheduling, layout, and budgeting of controls related work.
- Assists with completing PEMS equipment monitoring, stack emission spot checks, preventive maintenance and testing requirements and assists contractors during scheduled emissions testing.
- Assists with performing assigned maintenance of energized and de-energized facilities in accordance with LES procedures, policies, practices, and safety rules while ensuring the safety of themselves, fellow workers, and the general public.
