We are seeking a Journeyman Lineman with integrity and a strong work ethic; Candidate should have at least one year working experience upon completion of a City and IBEW approved apprenticeship. Duties include constructing and maintaining all aspects of Distribution and Transmission electrical systems. This includes but is not limited to setting poles, changing transformers, rubber gloving energized conductors, splicing cable, switching, installing meters, and maintaining streetlights. The Lineman must be able to operate digger derricks, climb poles, and work out of a bucket truck at elevated heights, work alone and with others to troubleshoot the City’s electrical system, perform work in a safe manner and complete other duties as assigned. The Lineman shall have completed a certified rubber glove training program, as well as be familiar with hot stick techniques. The Lineman must have (or be able to obtain within 3 months) a California Commercial Class A driver’s license and must be able to complete and maintain all certifications and conditions of employment. Paid On-Call required every 5-6 weeks. The city owns/operates 115kV/12kV Substations. Complete AMI (w/ Remote Disconnects) & SCADA Monitoring Systems.
